This is an old wood frame that I rescued from a second hand store. It had a brown stain on it and was pretty beat up. But it is solid wood and I felt that there was still a lot of life left in this little guy. So I sanded the old stain off and added a saw tooth hanger first. Then I hand painted it using blues and green paint. When that was dry, I painted the glass (which would normally cover a photo) of the frame.
Next, I added one beautiful real sand dollar I found at the beach. The final step was to seal the frame with water sealer. This frame would be beautiful displayed in any beach themed area of your home.
I love the idea of taking something that nobody wants and giving it a new life by recycling it. These frames made by hand using real sand dollars are just a little reminder of a special day at the beach for me every time I see them.
